Other than ancient history, the Sanders brand has always been used on standard Cerveny tubas. They sometimes even glued the nameplate over Cerveny or Amati medallions. Now, a recent thread has suggested that they are marketing other makes of tuba as Sanders? If so, what is the origin, and what does the wary buyer look for?

Uh... the Sanders tubas that are of Chinese origin have been around for quite a while... perhaps 20 years or so.

Right around the time I disappeared. So, are these the same Chinese Cerveny knockoffs that are being marketed under other brands, as well? I tried a 4/4 5v CC a year or so ago, and other than looking like a Cerveny, there was no "resemblance".
Is the Sanders brand used on Cervenys any more, or just the Chinese stuff? Did CMC sell the name to someone else? I don't see it on the Tuba World site any more...
