Kind of reminds me sitting as bassbone in a big band behind a guesting US singer with a very generously cushioned seat area. Asking my sideman about how many cows had to die for the sake of her leather skirt.

When I lived in Germany after WWII Lederhosen were fairly common among kids. But when I investigated the German prices in 1989, they had run wild. At least by my standards.

I play with The Rhein Valley Brass.... the semi-professional house band at the local chapter (Evansville, Indiana) of Germannia Mannerchor. We play in the rathskeller every other Friday night and gig two or three times a month.
The dress is lederhosen with knee sox, a red/white checkered shirt, and a tirolean hat. The shirt came from Ernst Licht and the rest of the stuff I bought off Ebay. European size 52 lederhosen are pretty tough to come by!
Most of our music is scored for two clarinets, two trumpets, a trombone, a baritone, a tuba, and drums. Hungry Five, Whoppee John, Snickelfritz, and other folios make up our books. An excellent source for music is Fest-Musik-Haus in Medina, Texas.... phone 830-589-2268.

Current 'stable'... Rudolf Meinl 5/4, Marzan (by Willson) euph, King 2341, Alphorn, and other strange stuff.
