the elephant wrote:Yes, I agree with Ralph. The TROLL mouthpiece is an excellent one, possibly the best ever. But I try hard to avoid such blanket statements as "best ever" or "great for everyone" when discussing equip, ent. Remember, BigDog, that your mileage may vary from all of ours (especially if you happen to have a World Class Sound).

When ordering, just remember to specify whether you want the American or the European shank.

And whether you want a left-hand or right-hand model.

dude, that Troll mouthpiece was the gas. I never played so high and fast and loud as with that mouthpiece, on my 40K it was all I could do to back off to mm208 on Carnival of Venice, in the Trumpet range.

People had to cover their ears, it was so loud.

Original Conn Helleberg. I've heard some rumor that they play perfectly on their own!

Yes, I have heard those rumors, as well! I believe it was on the TubaNet...

I am not worthy in my playing ability to fully utilize a TROLL brand mouthpiece. I have to stick with the rather conventional mouthpieces in my signature.

There was in production, for a brief period of time, that mouthpiece that doubled as an enema bag nozzle. Now that's handy!!

And if you call within the next 10 minutes, we'll include the bong for free.

If there was a "best mouthpiece ever" then I guess everyone would be playing it.

Ah, yes, that was the "Shy-C-Tone", wasn't it? Interesting slogan in their ads: "This sound needs an enema!"

I must have purchased a defective one. Mine makes a lot of mistakes, and doesn't always play with a world class sound.

They may have shipped you an "extra crispy" one by mistake -- I tried one of those once, and the sound was definitely crunchy!

Your sound is too crunchy?
You probably had your tuba turned up to 11, then.

I, for one, would suggest the sainted Conn Helleberg, but made of depleted uranium. Brass is, like, soooooooo passe.
