i currently play my mira 180 for about 90% of the literature and CC on about 9% and sousaphone/Bass Trombone/etc. the other 1%. i'd really like to bet a larger F to fill out the bottom end a little better but i'll have to wait for that.

In one quartet, I play 3rd part, on tenor trombone. With others, it varies, and I usually bring all three to a gig. Probably 80-90% is for Bass Bone, but some of the Robert King stuff says "Baritone". Tuba stuff is really rare, but I usually bring my 621 F, just to be safe.

Check out a group called 'Nothing But Valves'. They are on iTunes if you want to hear snippets.
Lance LaDuke plays everything on a euph. They are a really tight group.

And as far as literature, Palestrina's Ricercar del Primo Tuono one of the best renaissance pieces.

I play my 186 in a quartet at my church (normally quintet music but we can't find a 2nd trumpet). I have to back off a bit, but it's my only option. I'm looking into purchasing an F tuba this year... for now though, my 186 is the do-it-all tuba (orchestra, quintets, quartets, solo). Love it.

While tuba, euph, and bass trombone generally cover the same range, their tone color is significantly different, so I really think it depends on the individual piece and the tone color you're after.
