Yeah, I second the Harvey Phillips' recording...though I think you'll have a difficult time tracking it down. My professor has it on his computer but its a bad recording...not a BAD recording but its a recording that was transfered from vinyl to tape to cd...so the quality is kinda bad.

[edit: I just noticed that you were looking for "Serenade for Tuba #12." This refers to his "Parable for Tuba #12." I'm not sure whether or not they're the same piece.]

There's also a version of this piece on József Bazsinka's Waves album. Not my favorite, but worth a listen.

David Zerkel has a recording of the Serenade on a CD entitaled American Music for Tuba Something Old Something New. This is one of my favorite tuba CD's, very musical and interesting compositions. It's on Mark Custom Recording Sevice, Inc. label.
