What about durable but non-permanent coatings?

I've pondered this, but never bothered to try:
Would auto detailing products be a helpful addition to the horn maintenance arsenal?
I have used a couple of acrylic sealants - Menzerna FMJ & Klasse, and they're lights out on the car.
The piano guy recommended auto glazes and final coat to mask the micro scratches in my piano's lacquer finish, so I'm wondering if the occasional coat of auto glaze wouldn't relax the silver horn maintenance schedule, as well. . .
