I've pondered this, but never bothered to try:

Would auto detailing products be a helpful addition to the horn maintenance arsenal?

I have used a couple of acrylic sealants - Menzerna FMJ & Klasse, and they're lights out on the car.

The piano guy recommended auto glazes and final coat to mask the micro scratches in my piano's lacquer finish, so I'm wondering if the occasional coat of auto glaze wouldn't relax the silver horn maintenance schedule, as well. . .

If you use tarnishield, it actually can last a long time

i asked this same question here a while back..everybody's answer was NO DONT DO IT!! so i didnt do it. I'd rather polish it then have it look like crap after a couple years and can't do anything about it. Although King lacquers over their silver mouthpipes on the 2340, and Jupiter puts lacquer over their silverplate artist saxophones..
