Hi
I don't have the part but have played the symphony a few times. There is nothing but the solo. All the licks are for the trombones. It helps to listen to recordings to hear the seamless(ha) transition from the double bass to the tuba. :?

Why don't you check with some of your studio mates?

just came back from a general reahersal on mahler 1 + brahms double concerto, great excerpt for the low brass, playing it tommorow, the day after and in about 2 weeks in tonhalle, swiss, and then back in israel with maestro Zubin Mehta
Thanks for that delicious slice of humble pie!

Is that Tonhalle, Switzerland? Why isn't Karl Schimke playing?
