Here is what I have done. I put some insulating foam around the bottom bow, like this:



And on top of that I put a layer of leather.


The picture was taken with another purpose in mind, thats why the small Barcone sousaphone i next to my 14k

It works great. And when I have some repairs done, I can take it off in 5 min.
