The Cavallaro bags fit the R&S heavyweights, I believe.

I have the cavallaro pouch that holds 4 mpc's and one of these is the loud LM-3, and I have never had any problems.

The R&S heavies fit fine in a Protec pouch.

I like Pro-Tecs also; they will fit a Mike Finn. Cheap and big and functional - what's not to like?

I use a Milnarik padded bag for my euphonium mouthpiece . The compartment in the case is too small for my mouthpiece to fit in and the Milnarik pouch allows me to store it safely in my case . I ususally stuff the bag between the tubes in the body of the horn and it never moves.

Here's another recommendation for the Milnarik mouthpiece pouchs. I have both the single and the dual. Heavyweight mouthpieces fit well, and the pouches are sturdy and padded well enough to protect the mouthpieces inside from drops. Mike Milnarik sells them directly at:

My LM-7 came with a mouthpiece pouch in the box. But Giddings & Webster make really great mouthpiece pouches as well.

Caution on the Cavalarro 4 piece roll if you favor these bigger heavy mass mouthpieces...

They offer good protection, but the weight of the piece will allow it to wiggle inside of it's slot, and you'll hear a faint "tinkling" as the outer rims rub against each other. I ended up having to wrap my TUHHII and my Megatone in washcloths to avoid little dings and scratches...

I have had a Cavalarro 4 piece roll for a couple of years now and had no such problem with it. I have on occation stuffed it with a G&W Bayamo and Taku, a Loud LM-10 and a PT-50 with no problem.

I would stay away from the ProTec pouch for a heavier mouthpiece. I recently dropped my LM-10, and, after I cleaned up the mess in my shorts, realized that the pouch did nothing to protect the shank. And, my mouthpiece actually hit the tile so hard that the RIM (which is a C4 rim; i.e. very rounded) cut through the nylon of the pouch! So, there is not a lot of padding.

I also have noticed that after owning it for about a year and a half, the velcro closure does not stay closed as well as it used to.

I keep my Marc. CH H2 and Kelly 1-1/2G in my Cavallaro 2-pack. On top of those, I also stuff in a regular bandana that I use for slobber (I don't know why everyone doesn't have one!). That rag packs them down nice and firm and they don't wiggle anywhere.

I bought a Giddings and Webster case for my heavyweight helleberg and it does just fine. The only problem that occured was the first time I used it I stuck it in there and closed it and that night the shank was pressing up against the top of the pouch and put a slight tear in it. All I had to do was take the small inner pouch and stretch it to make it fit better and now I can just shove it in there without having to worry about it.

For price and protection I sure don't know what beats the old black rubber/vinyl cases with the slit up the side. I've dropped them on floors and never had any damage. I'm curious as to why you guys are hauling around so many mouthpieces. Do you really need 4 mouthpieces for gigs?

I keep my mouthpieces in the rubber/vinyl cases, and those inside a padded satchel with all my other accessories that snaps onto the tuba case. And I usually take two or three mouthpieces to a gig: main mouthpiece, a Kelly, and sometimes a third depending on the repertoire.

The Milnarik pouches are the way to go. Three horns (King, Meinl Westin and Holton) and three mouthpieces each of which have their own Milnarik case. The fit is excellent and the mouthpieces are very well protected. I tuck them away when I am finished cleaning them and do not worry about them being damaged. An excellent product.
