Linkola TUBA Concerto

Post by Peach »

I know the Linkola Euph concerto and think it's great but his Tuba concerto seems something of an enigma.
From digging a little online and through the archives here all I know (I think) is that it was written in 1992 for Michael Lind.

Can anyone shed any light on this work? If you own a copy where'd you get it from - it's not at Hickeys or BVD or anywhere in England I can find??

From http://www.suomijazz.com/linkola.htm" target="_blank" target="_blank

In his Tuba Concerto (1992) Linkola contrasts, in his typical manner,
heavily swinging rhythmical parts with dreamlike flowing parts, bitterly
dissonant non-tonal passages with warmly melodic tonal ones, extrovert
power with introvert lyricism.

No mention anywhere I can find of his concertos for other instruments (including all orchestral brass) or the chamber stuff...

Thanks for any help.

Hey,

I just got my copy of this a couple of days ago, I ordered it from http://spaeth-schmid.de/. Since my chops are still so out of shape from my terrible loss, I can't tell you much more than it looks really hard! Hope this helps you a bit.
