Eric Swanson is fantastic, and yes, he is in Hurst, which is in the DFW mid-cities area.

Thanks for the input and for the couple of PMs.
I actually thought there'd be a nice shop around SanAntonio since it's a metropolitan area. :tuba:

I don't need anything major; just a good chem clean and...
I'm thinking of a lacquer strip. :shock:
I know the consequences of stripping a horn's lacquer, but I want it stripped for cosmetic reasons;
I'd love the look of a polished raw brass over 20+ years of lacquer wear any day.(even if it means foul smelling hands :lol: )
Thanks for the help :mrgreen:
what part of deep south texas are looking for? i live at the very tip of south texas and can try to find you a shop around the area if interested.
Right now I'm in the valley; at least untill school starts again. :mrgreen:

harlingen eh? personally i don't know of any shops in the area but if you're ever in the houston area, there's a nice H&H in katy with a good repair service dept. you should look up Lee Hipp, principal tuba with SA. he might have a couple of suggestions. cheers!

In San Antonio, go to High School Music on NW Military off of 410. He is VERY good at what he does. That's the only place I take my horn.
