Bought this as soon as I saw it on Doug Yeo's site. Some really great playing on familiar material. I had to run and grab my book to try all the new ideas I got.

I highly recommend this - worth every penny and then some!

Let's not forget Jay Friedman's The Singing Trombone. Great cd including 12 Bordogni vocalises as well as solos and excerpts. His soft playing is virtually unmatched in many people's opinion.

The original poster is a good friend of mine, who has done outstanding work on this daunting project and produced a wonderful resource for all low brass players!

He took this on while pursuing a Master's degree. The project involved calling and convincing a number of GREAT players to take part in it (which is where the project would have stalled out if I were doing it), flying around the country recording them, and then all of the post-production stuff.

The end result is a great-sounding CD, with a lot to teach us about tone, timbre, style, and musicianship. I urge you all to visit the website and check it out - I think you will be glad you did!
