Anyone know where I can find a set of band parts and score for Catozzi's "Beelzebub"?

Please advise.

Thanks

Matt

I HAD the whole shebang. Donated it to the band in which I perform....they promptly lost it along with Colossus. Dang!

I have a complete set of BEELZEBUB Air Varie by Carl Fischer - Original Composition for Band - J 571.
It is in like new condition. I would consider letting it go if the price is right. :tuba:

I'm not trying to avoid copyright issues, but have an honest question: What's the copyright on the band parts? I've been told several different dates for Beezley-bubb, and seen a couple of different ones (don't have my part handy to check it out), and I just wonder.

thanks!

The most recent copyright date is 1932. Presumably, this would make the piece in public domain as of this year (older than seventy-five years). Steve Shoop

I don't think so, but I also don't pretend to be an expert on copyright law. Looks to me that the PD date would be 95 years from the original copyright date, whatever that is. Anyone that can better understand the information at http://www.pdinfo.com/pdf/circ15t.pdf, please feel free to chime in.

Another page from that source (http://www.pdinfo.com/copyrt.htm) adds:
  • The Good News - works published in the United States in 1922 or earlier are in the public domain even if they are not yet 95 years old.
  • The Bad News - no new works will enter the public domain until January 1, 2019.
Anyway, if the piece is PD, you can do your own arrangement without any copyright infringement worries.

Todd is right....1923 is the current PD cutoff.

Interesting. I'd heard 1932 and I've heard 1916 (maybe that's the original pub. date??)

If ANY version with a pre-1923 copyright can be found, then an arrangement is completely kosher.

interesting.
