Possible mouthpieces...

I play on a Meinl Weston 2165 and am looking for a mouthpiece that will help focus my sound a bit.

It might help to say what you have tried and what you didn't like about it (or them). Like: too big/small, rim to fat/skinny/flat/round/sharp on inner edge, too much/not enough back pressure; good sound in high/low range, but not in low/high range, etc. etc.

100% agreed with Wade.

I have played many 2165s and recently one 2265.
Putting a smaller than stock leadpipe on your 2165 will have a significant and positive impact.
You should definitely try it.

This seems to be one of many very good trends in modern BAT construction (including lighter-weight and thinner bells, tapered bore through the tuning slide, etc). We live in an enlightened age!

I've had excellent luck with Laskey mouthpieces, and suggest a 30H (or G) on your 2165 (with a smaller leadpipe).

I have a rotary Neptune, which has interchangeable leadpipes, so I am able to experiment at will.
I have medium and large pipes, and love them both for different reasons (but use the medium pipe the vast majority of the time). The big pipe is useful for when I want to sound like a Fafner (which isn't always, but certainly has its place!) So - if you are able to have this modification done in a non-permanent or interchangeable way, I would strongly recommend that.

I was actually looking at the Laskey 30h. The leadpipe suggestion was made by my teacher, who has a 2165 himself. I may have to look into that upgrade. I appreciate the help so far. Would there be any benefit to a stainless steel mouthpiece? I know that the sound is a bit dryer and perhaps more focused, but I don't know if that would be beneficial to me.

Get the SLP leadpipe upgrade. I did it back in December with help from Roger Lewis and Lee Stofer. It helped even out the sound and made the high range much easier to work with.

I have it paired with a standard shank Al Baer GW Orig. piece.

I was using the Parke-Ofenloch before the leadpipe switch.
