Bach Brass Quintet Arrangements

Post by basstbone64 »

I'm wondering if anyone knows of an arrangement for brass quintet similar to the one that Empire Brass has on their Bach Festival CD for "Wir eilen mit schwachen, doch emsigen Schritten (Cantata, BWV 78)" (track 13 on that CD). Of course the piece is Bach.

Ideally I'd like the Empire Brass arrangement, but it doesn't seem to be available.

Not a direct answer to your question but......

There are some great (and free!!!) quintet arrangements here:

http://www.geocities.com/dtmusicuk/?200822

including some bach.

There's arrangements for other ensembles including tuba quartet (Toccata & Fugue anyone?)

NOT what you asked for but of some interest I hope.

the Onyx brass ensemble in the UK have just released a disc of fugues by Bach and Shostakovich,(http://www.onyxbrass.co.uk). There is a link to their publishing arm for their arrangements and they are fantastic :tuba:

Some more freebie Bach arrangements here:

http://www.free-music-scores.com/brass_quintet.htm

On the "Home" page there's LOADS more arrangements for various brass ensembles of many sizes as well as other combos from harpsichord duet to large orchestra.

Gotta LOVE the internet eh?

Cheers

Go to the Empire Brass website and send Rolf an email. I'll bet he'll sell it to you.

What an idea, haha. I'll do that. I also have a friend in Pilafian's studio, so I could ask him.
