Last Monday morning my "Sugarfoot Jazz Band" did a brief live performance on WFSB-TV as a plug for the upcoming Great Connecticut Traditional Jazz Festival. Most of the kids in the band have just finished 9th grade; two of them just graduated from high school, and the tubist (a student of mine, of course) just finished her first year of college. I am very proud of this group!

For better sound quality here is an MP3 version of the same tune, as it appears on our new CD: http://www.box.net/shared/68z7044o0o

Art,

You should be proud! Nice job. And they got the whole tune on TV. Here in L.A. when they put a community group on TV to take a show out, the show about two bars of the tune, shrink the picture to corner of the screen and start a showing a commercial for whats going to be on Oprah tomorrow!

Great group of young people! They got a fine chance to present themselves and they used it in the best way as representatives for youngsters with a dedication towards music. No odd attitudes. And then I liked the faster tune at the end even better,

Very good that you gave the link for the .mp3 version. The tuba isn't heard that much in the video version, but like the rest she sounds very good in the sound-only file.
