An odd brass ensemble request.

I am interested in sheet music for the following ensemble:

French Horn
Trombone
Tuba

I know this is an odd request but does anyone have any leads on where I might get some music for this group?

I am thinking about just transposing some low brass trio stuff, but want to see if any of you had any ideas.

Thanks!

funny you should mention this ensemble. I actually played a wedding with this same group a few weeks ago. We played some orchestral stuff straight from the parts. one thing that I think turned out really well was the nocturne from 'mid summers nights dream' with trombone playing the bassoon and tuba playing bassoon 2 part. it turned out nice, some chordal issues you might want to fix, but it turned out great and features the horn player really well.

Triangles by John Stevens springs to mind. I think it's pretty cool.

After a quite brief and perfunctory look at rkingmusic.com and hickeys.com, ( I mean less than five minutes total, as in---anyone-can-do-this-type-of-research)
I found the following. This is -not- an exhaustive list, I have double this amount in my office, but these are the first ones I happened upon. So, the answer is, yes, it's out there. Sorry to sound curmugeonly, but it's really not that hard to find this stuff.

you could use trombone trio music and transpose the first part for horn.

Sounds like someone is getting in touch with his inner geezer.

OP, do check out the trombone trios as well. If your horn player can do the transposition, they're a lifesaver on long quintet gigs. (Speaking from experience...)

Or...... if you want something a little more spicy, check out Linaia-Agon by Iannis Xenakis. Frigyes Hidas also wrote a trio for that instrumentation.

Weird - I once did a wedding for a friend where his friends played - Horn, Cello, Tuba. It would work fine for what you're after - should I look for it? PM me if interested, and I'll try to dig it up...
