hey guys and gals,
i was given the TunesTalk Stereo recording attachment made by Belkin today. it attaches into the 'usb' port at the bottom of an ipod and records directly into the voice memo portion of the device. it has an autogain feature that allows soft volumes to be amplified. ratings:
ease of use: 10/10
functionality: 10/10
durability: 10/10
sound quality: 9/10
it's as easy as plug and play. it took me under 5 minutes of playing with it to figure the thing out. i tested it in an auditorium/classroom setting, practice room setting and with my electric bass. the classroom setting and electric bass (oddly enough) worked best with the autogain on but in just a practice session worked well with it off. the recordings sync with iTunes automatically and they're listed in the music menu which makes them easy to manage. also, if you have any recording software (i just used garage band on my mac) you can slow down your recording to get reaaaal picky which is nice. (but a little discouraging sometimes. lol) overall, for a college student that would like to record their practice time and record their lectures while being small and portable, this is a great tool. it also comes with a usb cord, manual and a flimsy plastic stand to prop up the iPod while recording. the list price online was $60.
