Denis Wick practice mute in a RM 4/4? (or B&S F or Conn 2j)

Is there anybody out there who is using a Denis Wick practice mute (DW5519) in a Rudolf Meinl 4/4 CC or a 4/4 size Hirsbrunner? I have a RM, but the HB is around the same size.

While the mute was designed for Besson E Flats, those Bessons have big bells and a fairly large bell throats. I'm just curious if it fits at all or doesn't or if somebody has modified one somehow to fit.

It'd also be good to know if one of those mutes would fit a Conn 2j or a B&S F tuba.

Thanks,

I have one that I use in my Miraphone 186 BBb. It falls out of the horn, if you tilt it anywhere near 90 degrees (like, across your lap). I have no frame of reference to compare it to RM or HB, though.

I just bought a TrumCor Deluxe Stealth Medium CC Pracitce Mute for my 4/4 HB. I am really pleased with it. The quality is top notch and it fits like a glove. I ordered it through Thompson Music in Nebraska.

**Edit** It also fits my 45SLP very well too.

It gets my vote as a great pracitce mute.

I don't have a Denis Wick practice mute,
but I have a Denis Wick Straight mute DW5518,
their size are almost the same,
and it fit my HB-2 very well. :tuba:
