Getting a horn flushed in Chicagoland

I am trying to find the best place to get my horn cleaned out. I looked into the horn with a flashlight and the sight was....not pleasant. I could use some new corks put in as well. Any locations? I am in the far west 'burbs so I'd rather not drive all over the place to get this done. Thanks in advance and sorry to clutter the board if this has already come up.

You can try Dana Hofer at Music and Arts in Itasca 630-467-1077. He is a good tuba player who works in the repair shop and will treat you right. Tell him Luke sent you.

It's been awhile since I've lived in Naperville, IL but it would seem they might be close to you and when I was living there I had bought a used Conn 20J from them many years ago. I know at least one of the "Ellman's" plays(or played) in the Municipal band and I was impressed with them and their setup at that time. Can't say I've dealt with the in many years, but as far as getting something cleaned you could probably check it out.

If you feel like making the trip down to Blo-No....

Seriously. Never been happier then when I take my horns there.

Flushing a tuba is difficult. The bends in the toilet don't quite match the bends of the tuba, so you need to straighten the tuba's tubes first, then re-bend them as you push it into the stool.
