Go to the music library at U&M...there are plenty of resources there to help answer your question. Ask the librarian if you can access the RILM database, and enter "Blasmusik" into the search engine. You will find lots of good information, much of which will be at hand in the library there.
Please don't rely on the internet for academic studies. Besides being the lazy way out, it is often inaccurate and very difficult to cite properly in any sort of paper (internet sources are fluid and can be easily altered with the passage of time...academic research sources are permanent). As was pointed out earlier, using the internet for research won't score you many points with your teacher, either.
