Case recommendations?

Post by Peach »

I have a detachable bell tuba and I could do with a case of some sort.

Approx (not-less-than) dimensions are:
Body: 33.5 x 22 x 12 inches, or 850 x 550 x 300mm

Bell is 24" (610mm) and is a bell-front.

My main concern is getting the body secure in transit - either in a gigbag type rucksack or wheeled hardcase.

I've looked at various options and the current favourites are either an Altieri bag or some sort of generic flight case...

Any opinions?

Thanks!

Turns out a 24 x 16" Bass drum bag should be near-perfect for the bell so that's fine.
Trying to think of a non-custom option for the body...

Thanks for the input,
I've built a few boxes to ship tubas so a 'proper' case would just take slightly more attention to detail(!).
Expect it'll take me rather longer than you to build but at least I can make it exactly as I want it with quality wheels, latches etc etc.
