One man's nauseum may be another's salvation. There is no mention of the model I was speaking of in the MM thread. Has any one played the 4 piston bat model and would be willing to share their experience?
Thanks.

I currently own the Symphony Model that is on ebay starting at $1875. I am thankful to have it because I enjoy playing and because it did not suit the tastes of a friend of mine, it was sold to me at a great price. I have been complimented with the sound it produces. A noted tuba player with whom I take an occasional lesson from liked the horn. It has the normal intonational issues and is stuffy in the pedal register Db is the worst. The fella that sells and services them (5 year warranty} is a tuba player. He is responsible in holding up his end of the warranty and is pleasant to do business with.
I am thinking about purchasing the Piston Bat model and am looking for some info about it.
Thanks

(Psssst! Just remember that "BAT" is an acronym, so it is not "Bat".)
I played one of those at the Army conference last year. It was competent for the price. But the Miraphone 1291 on which it seemed to be modeled has no cause for fear. I'd rather have it than nothing for sure (which I can't say about some of the Chinese tubas), but for that money I'd rather have a used old-style King 1241 or 2341.
