I wanted to take a look at the Met orchestra horn section, namewise. They have two alternative quartets plus a utility player.

When googling the Met, I wondered highly about a Danish text and durance indication associated with Atomic (3t 21min). So I had to click that link which after all had no Danish relevance. Google automatically translates that facility, which lets you type your Zip code to know when Atomic is shown in your town.

I love Adams's work and, from the very little I saw, Doctor Atomic looks amazing.

I went to see the broadcast yesterday and enjoyed it very much and I intend on going to a fair bit more of them. Major kudos to all involved, especially Julie Landsman who had some quite impressive (and what I would image are very difficult) solos. As for the opera itself, I was quite riveted by the whole thing and was amazed by the staging. Then again, I'm a big John Adams and scientific history fan and my roommate is a lighting designer/stage manager so there were a lot of things to keep me interested. From the few reviews I've read some of the complaints were to montre8's comments that the opera felt a little static. I personally enjoyed that aspect (the probing into the psyche of the characters involved rather that furthering the plot. It's not like the end is a surprise) but to each their own.
