How interesting/challenging is the tuba part on Jonathan Willcocks' Magnificat and other Christmas music by him? Bass tuba or contrabass recommended?

Don't know about Magnificat, but the carols are well-written, and work with any tuba. The usual rules apply for choral accompaniment--if you take the big horn, be prepared to back down on the dynamics if the choir isn't big and kicking ***.
