Does anyone have (or know of) a good recording of Gordon Jacob's Tuba Suite? I am unable to find one and would very much like to hear how this piece sounds.

Thanks!

Oystein Baadsvik recorded it on his CD "Danzas". Very fine playing!

Eugene Dowling made a great recording of the piece.

It may take some digging to come up with a copy of his CD, but it will be worth your effort.

See the Danzas CD:

It is also on Itunes, Naxos an the Qualiton sites as well other music/CD dealers.

In addition to the Dowling recording, there is one from David Randolph:

I don't get the impression it is readily available.

You can also find more info by typing "Gordon Jacobs Tuba Suite recording" in Google:

Hi I am new to tubenet but have been playing tuba for many years and have heard all the best. I thought the Vaughan Williams by Dowling was amazing though he did not do all the traditional edits in the cadenza. However the folk-song qualities Vaughan Williams wanted in his music were present in my ears!
