Hi everyone,

I wanted to let you know about a new recording from the Pittsburgh Symphony Brass. The following is taken directly from the website (http://www.fourwinds-music.com/" target="_blank), just click on the "new releases" tab at the top of the page.

Four Winds Entertainment is proud to present the long awaited new recording “A Song of Christmas” by America’s premiere brass ensemble Pittsburgh Symphony Brass, led by Grammy winner George Vosburgh. The album is filled with joyful Holiday favorites, as well as glorious Christmas works of old, played only as PSB can. The set was recorded on September 8th and 9th 2008 in the East Liberty Presbyterian Church of Pittsburgh, which provides one of the finest natural acoustic settings available anywhere. Once again, Four Winds was most pleased to have the renowned producer Arnie Roth at the helm to record this celebrated group. Like the successful first two Holiday recordings “A Christmas Concert” and “The Spirit of Christmas,” the new album delivers all the joy of the season with virtuoso flair and spectacular sound. We are pleased to once again have as our special guest the exciting mezzo-soprano Tami Fire, singing two classics O Holy Night (Cantique de Noel) and He Shall Feed His Flock (from Handel’s “The Messiah”).

The CD is available from Four Winds, as well as direct downloads from iTunes.

Cheers
Tom

Tom,
Are the arrangements available? I am always looking for good symphonic brass charts and they are quite rare! Please PM me if they are? Thanks,

Well, I told myself I'd only listen to the samples on Amazon during lunch today. It's now 5:30 and I've already bought and listened to the whole CD twice.

This is some mighty fine playing, and some cool arrangements. I especially liked "O Magnum Mysterium." Check it out if you haven't already!
