Hi everyone,

I remember a few years ago that several people have asked Mr. Ellerby to write alternate cadenzas to the Tuba Concerto. Does anyone know where I could get a copy of these? I looked in the TubeNet archives and couldn't find anything. Just curious as to what else is available.

There is an extended cadenza published with the current edition of the concerto (or at least the piano reduction). The original cadenza is still in both parts, but an extra page is attached with the extended cadenza. The piano reduction is quite pricey, so you might be able to contact the publisher and see if you could just purchase the new cadenza.

Well, I contacted the publisher, and they won't just send me the cadenza. They want me to buy another $45 copy of the piano part and solo tuba part. I think that's a bit ridiculous. Anyone care to help me out?

The only legal way to help you out would be to tell you about a library having the extended cadenza on its shelves.

And exactly in that matter I cannot help you.

Well, I have the newer edition out from the Eastman library, and it's not present there. I am not asking anyone to break the law, I'm asking someone to see if they have the alternate version that could tell me if it's really worth $45 plus shipping for me to get it!
