What is the difference between these two Bach 24 mouthpieces?

Bach uses the letter system to signify cup depth on their mouthpieces (lower letter=deeper cup). The 24AW has a deeper cup than the 24W, but they both have the "W" which means they both have a wide rim and they both have a "24" which means they have the same cup diameter.

Assuming the dimensions are made exactly to spec.! :P

I don't understand. How does one have a deeper cup if they both have the same cup depth? Perhaps the 24 refers to inside rim diameter?

I believe he meant cup diameter.

Ah, yes! I did mean cup diameter. (Blame it on school-related stress)
