Thanks to everyone who participated in Kansas City's TubaChristmas yesterday. With short notice, we had nearly 70 performers and attracted about 600 very enthusiastic and supportive audience members. The local ABC affiliate covered the event, as did the Kansas City Star, which posted a short video on their website:

Special thanks to Joe Parisi, conductor of the Fountain City Brass Band for conducting the event, and to Steven Jarvi, KCS assistant conductor who also stepped in. I served as MC and also played with the ensemble.

With all the positive feedback, I am sure the Kansas City Symphony will host TubaChristmas again next year. I think everyone had a lot of fun. Thanks to all TubeNetters who supported the event!

Thanks for posting the video. TubaChristmas Evansville, Indiana was two weeks ago. Last week TubaChristmas Santa Claus, Indiana took place. Today... a trombone version called 'Jingle Bones' will take place at Washington Square at 3pm in Evansville. I don't get much of a chance to play my BBb cimbasso. But... after all... it IS a rotary contra-bass trombone. One the local fellows who did many of the arrangements has a passion for writing 4th trombone parts below the staff. Most of the bass trombone players struggle with multiple ledger lines below the staff. Shouldn't be a problem for me! This is going to be fun.
