I don't know what Phil Grease is but Super Lube is the only grease I have in the shop. Unless you bring your own, this is what horns leave here with on the slides.
Yes... cheap. Considering that you only need a tiny dab to do the job.LJV wrote:Terrific. Why? Why do you like it? Is it cheap? Is it good smelling? Good tasting? Is it long lasting? I've used it before, and it works well enough. But I prefer grease that isn't a vile color, because eventually it's gonna get on my white tuxedo shirt.bloke wrote:Is "Phil Grease" the same thing (green...in a green tube) as the c. 1970's-1980's

Why don’t you just ask seriously? Of course your reply comes from sort of the horse’s mouth, but I don’t want any pick-up horse, when I in this case can have a real Troian Horse provide the answer.bloke wrote:Mr. Bjerre, imperialbari wrote:Which grease did the Guy Lombardo guys use for a perfect colour match with their jackets?
K
To the best of my recollection, this was the guys' favourite:

I have not been that pleased with the tube of slide grease I bought at a local music store a while ago. Based upon Tuba Tinker's post I picked up some Super Lube at an Ace hardware store. What an improvement! And you are correct -- it is cheap. The $5.95 tube should last me for a number of years.
