Hallo Tubanetters,

I'm interested in buying this F tuba and I'm curious as to how many previous owners it has had. I would be grateful if anyone who has any knowledge of it's past would contact me. I've contacted the factory in case they have some records and am waiting on their response. Here's the number and model

Sorry:( I didn't have enough time to get some pics of it. It's a pretty normal run of the mill 3100wF. I think that's a PT-16 in the States? It's a Perrantucci model so it's probably from the mid 90s.

The 3100W is, I think, a PT-12, while the 3100/W2 has the wider bell throat that is the additional feature of the PT-16. But I may have that backwards.

Perantucci tubas have been made from the very early 80's, so being so labeled doesn't help much. If it says "Made in Germany" then it post-dates unification in 1991. The elimination of the bell ring apparently happened earlier, in the mid-80's. I don't recall when the PT-15/16 models were first introduced but it may be later than either of those other features.

What do you mean by "older-style valve linkage"?

Of course, none of that answers the question of who might have owned it.
