I'm looking at getting a guard leather gig bag. Does anyone have one and could tell me what the quality is or any other brands (affordable) I should look into? I have a Tuxedo now and It's about worn out. Thanks!

I have a leather one for my F tuba. It's ok. The padding breaks down (somewhat) but the leather does a good job beefing up the bag. A couple of my students have the cordura varieties and I don't think those hold up as well. I see lots of fraying of the cordura. I think they are very good for the price and would buy one again, but not for a larger or heavier instrument.

Thanks for the Reply
The guys at WWBW said that the Eb bag would work for my Kalison Pro 2000 but it would be a tight fit. Do you think it would work?

When i had a st petes school BBb, one of the sharp points cut the liner on the inside, mainly my fault, but there is plenty of protection and a music pouch, a rain protection covering.
What horn are you using. I bought mine 6 years ago for about $150
It's a Kalison Pro 2000.
38" tall 18.5"
The guys at WWBW said it's be a tight fit I just want to make sure from someone who knows before I buy. THANKS

Actually, you dno't want the EEb Gard bag. The bell is on the wrong side in that bag's design as it is meant for an older top action EEb tuba. What will work is the "small" bag which will handle (now) a 20" bell. It fits a new model 2341 King so it might fit your 2000
Just my $0.02.

I've got a Gard cordura bag for my Miraphone 186 that I've used for two years. No fraying or other problems. Durability seems on par with the Tuxedo/WWBW bag, and padding looks a good bit better. Two pockets, leather at stress points. Protection and padding is MUCH better than an Altieri.
