That's unheard of. Mouthpieces for $4 each? Giardinelli mouthpieces?

For that price, I bought four of them in various sizes.

Thanks for posting this!

How can they afford to drop their prices that much?

they probably have been sitting on the shelf for years and they just want to get rid of them, although that is one crazy price..

I dont think I have ever seen new MPs go for that cheap. I went ahead and picked up 5 of each. Should be able to resell for a profit.

Is this for real? There's one mouthpiece in the list that is shown as $32.99, not $3.99. Might this have been a typo? (A typo that WWBW would have to honor.) I just bought 5 for $20. Whoa!

All I can say is WOW! my orchestra director forced me into playing euph on Mars and we only have small shank euphs at school, so i have been borrowing a mouthpiece (nasty...) $8 and now i'm good to go :)

The low price also goes for Giardinelli trumpet and horn mouthpieces. I use a Giardinelli J4 for horn, so I took a look for at back-up, which was not there. It may not be the favourite models that are left. Yet some school system may get themselves some cheap spares.

Another good chart is one set up by Dave Werden.

Euphonium/Trombone Mouthpieces
http://www.dwerden.com/mouthpieces/trom ... honium.cfm

Scroll down to the mfg you're interested in - then click on the rim size for that piece. The chart reloads with comparisons of different makes in the size. You can reset that chart by clicking on 'view all sizes'.

For $4 each, buy now, try/read/measure later.

If you don't like it, someone on the board will surely take it off your hands...even for $10, it's a steal. :)

The Giardinelli bass trombone mouthpieces feel and play smaller than their numbers - a Giardinelli 1 is much smaller than a Bach 1. I have tried a number of Giardinelli trombone mouthpieces when I was younger. I even had one custom made up to what seemed good at the time, but it never worked that well. They are also extremely lightweight.
IMHO, I have never met a Giardinelli trombone mouthpiece I liked.
For a low-buck bass bone or euph mouthpiece, I would really go with the Faxx models (copies of Mt Vernon Bachs) instead. As inexpensive as they are, they are still not 3.99 though...

I ordered 4 mouthpieces of various sizes - mostly for my tenor and bass trombones. (I'm kinda partial to the Wicke mouthpieces for my euph.)

Anyway, I received three of the four. The invoice within the shipping carton said ZERO cost - not even shipping.

Each mouthpiece was sealed in a small plastic bag and packed in a small box, but the boxes were somewhat old. I had the feeling that these might've been tried out once upon a time, and returned, cleaned, resealed, and ready for resale.

My bank statement shows no charges made by WWBW.

Not sure what's going on. Maybe the charge will show up later.

Perhaps they are trying to save on CC charges by waiting until the "backordered" one ships.

I ordered four (2 in one order, 2 in another). One was evidently not available.
The first package arrived today with the zero bill, BUT my PayPal WAS charged.
The second package evidently is going to consist of only ONE piece, but my PayPal still shows
a bill for TWO pieces...
So, Eupher6, perhaps I am cross-subsidizing you in part. Are you a known deadbeat? :D

Jim
Uh oh.

So far, I've been able to hide my deadbeat status. Thanks for outing me.

Invoice didn't say anything about backordering the "missing' mpc. Personally, I'm happy with only the three and feel pretty lucky with those, even if the 4th never shows up!
