Unless of course you like sounding like big moose ***.
I wasn't aware that the moose *** style had fallen out of favor.

You say that like it was a problem or something, Snuffy. :P

Seriously, go check them out. Nothing like a good 7/8 groove to really get your mojo working!

Ah, yes. But is it a WORLD CLASS BMA sound?

From a fellow brasswhore who's played a lot of funerals. :| :tuba:
I didn't realize that anyone else would admit to playing tuba at Chinese funerals.

An old beer joke:
Q. How can you tell if a guy likes Moosehead?
A. Antler marks on his stomach.

So . . . . one wonders how one can tell if a tubist sucks BMA . . .

I managed to find youz guys in Brooklyn a few years ago, had a great time! But what city is the Air Conditioned Supper Club in?

edit - wow I need to get the coffee working this morning - that line break completely threw me off track!
But don't you mean March 5th, 6th and 7th? (see your opening paragraph.)

How high can YOU play with a WCBMA Sound? How low? What mouthpiece works best for the Canadian sound, vs the American sound?

there, it's all out.

Actually, I need to learn the BMA sound. My playing is too lyrical and melodic. ;)

I was out riding around on my motorcycle last summer, and ran into a fine Balkan-etc. influenced band getting ready to play a gig in Goldendale, Washington, which is not much to speak of as an urban center. Underscore Orkestra, from Portland - no tuba, alas, but a good string bass player and some sharp ears for Romanian & Hungarian musical ideas. If you have a venue that can present even vaguely attractive gig potential, some bands will travel a fair ways. I might know of another band like that in Seattle, if you promise not to listen to the baritone sax and occasionally tuba player.

I just gotta say it...

Saying a fellow tubist "sucks moose a$$" on a tuba forum - where said player may be a member or lurker - is the height of unkindness and uncivilized behavior. I guarentee this gets to the player somehow. It's a smaller world than you may believe, and a much smaller web.

Sorry to rain on the parade, though I like the moosehead joke :-)

No question about that, it's well known that the player reads this forum. Or, well, not so clear he reads, but he does post once in a while, though with his peculiar sense of humor it's sometimes hard to make out what he's saying.

Okay - apparently I'm the moose a$$. I deserve an F in reading comprehension. I didn't get that the Submitter was referring to him/herself. I apologize.

I'm getting old, and need to read things twice <<sigh>>

Forgive me all.
