This is the second sample (at least) that I have seen of French dual pitch euphoniums. The other one, that I remember, had been used in its C incarnation in a German church.

The pitch conversion happens through the use or the non-use of the long insert (the one with 2 stays) between the female branches of the tuning slide set-up and the tuning slide itself.

If the price had been right I would have bought this one for the fun of it. Musically I don’t believe in long cylindrical inserts in conical main bugles.
