"Alva Pomba" (Portuguese March) - need band arrangement!

Hi all,
A friend is looking for sheet music for this Portuguese Catholic traditional march for his High School level jazz band. I've never heard of it and Google is not much help. It is supposed to be a very popular march in the Portuguese-American community but nobody around San Jose, CA he has talked to knows much about it.
Either a lead sheet or specific trumpet, trombone, clarinet, alto sax, tenor sax, tuba and guitar/banjo parts would be great.
Any ideas or leads? Composer name to help searching?
TIA

There is a few things you could check out. First two things that come to mind are Fox Point and Fall River.
There is a band society in Providence (Holy Rosary Band Society) that plays a lot of Portuguese events (IIRC). Phone number: (401) 861-9314
There is the Portuguese Independent Band out of Bristol, RI.
Phone number: (401) 253-5695
Our Lady of Light Band out of Fall River.

Steve Noel (who is a member here, but doesn't post a lot) might also be able to help. Here is is contact information from tubenet:

Hope this helps.

Probably less useful but closer to home, there's a Portuguese radio station that serves the area around Turlock etc. with apparently significant immigrant concentration (funny, back in the '70s I thought it was more San Jose/Santa Clara, but of course that area has changed a lot.)

They play a mix of pop and traditional, and might be able to dig up a recording, if your friend doesn't already have that much. Past that, they might know the community pretty well - the ads are definitely local (and sometimes pretty colorful!)

You may have already done this, but try getting in touch with the Portuguese Band of San Jose (
http://www.pbsj.org" target="_blank). Joe Amaral's the director and a stand-up guy.
