Hello all,
I have been the owner of a PT-6 for a about a year now and for the most part I am happy with the horn. However, there are a still a few things that are bothering me about the way the horn plays. I've been looking into getting "the pt-6 modification" (includes: lengthening of main tuning slide, valve alignment, fourth valve slide cutting, and a new receiver) that Mr. Baer does and am just looking for some feedback from some people who have had this done. I believe the modification to be justified....I just want to get some feedback before I drop a large amount of money into this horn. Thanks for your time. -Josh Lee

One of my colleagues had this done to his PT-6P. It made a huge difference right away in the way the horn blew and the lower register. Well worth the investment.

cheers

I'm sure it's a drop in the bucket compared to what you've already paid for it... :)

A quick clarification to this post.
the mod includes:
lengthening the 4th slide AND straightening the one bent leg to allow a long slide pull.
Lengthening the main tuning slide
Removing the receiver and adjusting it to allow for the proper gap
Piston valve alignment kit.
