Renaissance Wax

I've seen ebay ads for Renaissance Wax as a finish for brass. Anyone used it on a tuba?
Ghuck(G) made mention of it some time ago, saying early results were good.

Specifically, I want something to protect the finish - a bit of a patina is fine - whilst not leaving nasty marks all over my hands and/or lap.

I don't mind ragging-down the tuba once every few months and re-applying the stuff either. Is that sort of thing needed?

Cheers!

I use it on my old Haag raw brass Eb. It certainly does 'slow' the tarnish to the extent that it can stay looking good for up to a year without polishing.

No long-term substitute for lacquer, but worth using on a raw brass tuba if you care about appearance and want to minimise polishing.
