Happy Coincidence

My wife's side of the family live in Montreal, and we visit them quite often. We decided to go visit them this weekend, and left Toronto Friday night. On Saturday, my father-in-law pointed out a blurb in the Gazette newspaper that mentioned a free tuba recital taking place at Pollack Hall, in the Strathcona Music Building of McGill University. My wife and I decided to attend. We were treated to a lovely evening of piano-accompanied tuba selections, rendered by none other than Mr. Gene Pokorny.
Apparently he had been in Montreal, as a guest artist in residence at McGill since Thursday. He had given a Masterclass to a group of brass students on Friday afternoon.
I stuck around after the recital to express my appreciation and even got to shake the big man's hand.
This was certainly a case where the phrase "you get what you pay for" didn't apply!
