Nat is a stellar player with Youngbloods Brass Band, and Sotto Voce. Both groups are recorded. Everyone should be hearing him!

Is that him on the right in this picture? I was looking at civil war band websites yesterday. This is from the 1st brigade band in Wisconsin.

Heard the Dallas Brass here last Sat. Nat played an Accent BBb, and have no fear, his sousaphone. Great sound from both horns. We were lucky to get them in our small town! They're on their way to Amarillo, Schlepporello, on Nov. 9th!

I could be wrong. I was sitting near the back and it looked like a 4 valver, a la VMI 3301ish. Checkng the archives, someone said the Accent pro tubas are made by B&S.

Accent brass is indeed a stencil name by a group of large music retailers. One of the retailers is Saied Music in Oklahoma and Arkansas. I know there are others.
Generally, they are a good value on a very good instrument. One of my students has a BBb tuba which is really a VMI/ Schneider/ whatever. I have Accent marching baritones which are "allegedly" made by Kanstul. Really good instruments at a good pricepoint.
I was really leary when Accent instruments started appearing on our school bids as alternative to brands that I specified. In the few cases where I was willing to "gamble" (marching band instruments), I have not been disappointed. For high end items, such as Selmer Paris Saxophones, I am not yet willing to accept substitutions.

Although I generally agree, I want my best 4 sax players in my top ensembles. They almost always have made their investments in a good alto. It is rare to find an undergrad willing to shell out $5-6000 on a good bari or tenor that is their "doubling instrument." At least not at my small school. Similarly, I have seen very few "Bass Clarinet" specialists, so we should have a few good quality instruments for them to check-out.
