Can someone please help me out? For the past two years if you visited the Yamaha web site you would notice under artist instruments there is a CC tuba that has been "Coming Soon", it is the YCB-826. Does anyone know anything about this mysterious horn?

That "mystery" tuba you speak of is the Yamaha York and has been in production for a couple of years.

I do have to wonder why it's still listed as "coming soon" ... seems a bit odd. Just ran a search on "yamayork" (on TubeNet) and got 218 matches! Lots of information (including pictures). :)

I would modify that to "limited production". These are made in small quantities for a very high price. But I suspect that the original waiting list (which seemed to have been restricted to high-end professionals) has been satisfied and anyone with the money and a bit of patience can have one. By the second batch (of 10 or so), even I received an invitation to try one out, which I respectfully declined, given that such an instrument is beyond me in a variety of ways.

It does make you wonder why the marketing lags so far behind the reality...

Love to see even a picture of one (I know "use the search...!")

It looks just like any other York copy in shiny silver plate. The only difference visible in a photo is the YAMAHA logo on the bell, but I'm not sure I even saw that in the photos I've seen.
