Here's me and my new tuba, the infamous Meinl Weston 5450 THOR. I bought the horn from MusiciansFriend last week, and it arrived at my house on Tuesday. I've been playing on this horn for 4 days straight, and I'm already worn out. lol Enjoy!

Haha, what can I say? Me and Tuba are like this! *crosses fingers*
My man, for what you paid for that horn, it should give you LAP DANCE on cue!

Well, in all theory it does. Haha
I've been mainly working on the new fingerings. This is the first time I've had my own horn, so adjusting to CC fingerings will take some time, but it shouldn't be too much trouble.
All I'm missing in that picture is a good beer. lol

TubaNerd88,
Congratulations on your killer horn. Let's see you light 'em up with it.
Having been a tuberist and beer drinker since 1958, I am proud to announce that I never seen any evidence that beer in moderation is bad for tubas or tuberists.

It's a fine looking horn.
I think we're playing "Armenian Dances" in this pic since there were like 100,000 A's in it...lol
Yup, you've got 1-2 fingering in the photo!
Thanks! It's a beast of a horn! Oh, and that's why I thought it was Armenian Dances...I remembered playing A's on every downbeat for ever, it seems...lol
Does the Gnagey on the left have a larger bell, or is that an optical illusion?
Optical illusion. Aside from some extra bends in valve tubing, our horns are nearly identical - the bugles are York, the piston valve sections are King. Tim's is a slightly earlier vintage, and he had his fifth valve stroke modified a wee bit and has some pull rings that I lack (but don't miss). I also have an Amato water key positioned on the main tuning slide whereas his is a conventional water key.
Gnagey CC, VMI Neptune 4098 CC, Mirafone 184-5U CC and 56 Bb, Besson 983 EEb and euphonium, King marching baritone, Alexander 163 BBb, Conn 71H/112H bass trombone, Olds Recording tenor trombone.
