Would that be the cup & reversed cone mute to match the blokepiece?

OK, we recently read his report that he used to be skinny enough to share a sousaphone with a lady. But I never imagined him as skinny as his logo on the bell suggests.

This has a bad angle on it. Here I am playing one of my high school's bass trombones (with Cup mute)

I've already posted in this thread, but this picture has recently surfaced on facebook. It's an example of my new breathing technique, and I've found that it's really improved my air capacity!

It's actually the strap from a pair of roller blades I outgrew when I was thirteen. I just threaded the strap through the loops on the 184 and there it was. It's a pretty basic setup; I'm sure you could find a similar strap without much trouble.Tuba Guy wrote:Dude, where did you get that strap? I want to be able to carry one of my tubas that way...

My mom, at age 16 in the 1930's with her high school's helicon. My aunt and my sister both also played tuba!

Re: Me & My Tuba, Add You & Yours
Here am I with the latest addition to my tuba family and one that was entirely unplanned
I had just visited Mr.Tuba to get Mark Carter to do a small job on one of my tubas and while waiting had a toot on this hand-made gold brass B&S PT-15 he had in stock - to immediately fall in love! I have not been over impressed with the low register of F tubas previously, but was blown away at how good it is on this F, while the high register simply just sings. I pulled out an excerpts book and played Bydlo straight off on it - no problem.
So although to be honest, I did not really need another bass tuba, already having (what I consider) the best Eb around in the M-W 2040/5 - I could just not leave the PT-15 behind! I guess it chose me?

It sure looks the thing too !
I guess it's better to invest it in tubas than putting it on a fuzzy bank-account isn't it?
