There's no better wah-wah mute, but imho, too much stinkin' back pressure :)

It helps if you change the diaper before you put the mute in! Granted, depending on how loud (or low) you play, you might have to change it again after ...

My old Eb making me make a stupid face (I used to have a picture from a dixieland show with me "blasting" my bass trombone RIGHT into some little girl's ear with here cupping here hand around her ear and smiling :D). It also apparently gave me a stupid haircut. :D

Interesting little horn!

It is hard to tell from that view - does the bell actually touch the top bow? What is that silvery thing at the crest of the top bow?

Almost- I actually got my hand stuck there once! The silver is duct tape to hold down the slighly peedling up bow guard so I wouldn't cut myself.

That horn was the best economic decision of my life. I bought it for 400 (maybe a bit high, oh well...), made about 800 playing it, spent no money on it, and sold it for 500. :D

Here I am with my 1929-ish Conn 4 banger (playing with the Zenith Brass Band at "New Orleans By The Bay" a few years ago. The festival is no more.)

Here is a particularly flattering shot of me and my Mirafone 186, located just beneath a wonderful portrait of Abe Lincoln [the first one, not the latter-day version]

Edit: I think I did everything correctly, but I still can't view the picture! :(

Robert, you do realize that now you have to explain why you were with tuba in the beer aisle... :)

Whatever the reason, it was a nice touch.

You make that 2145 look like a 2165!! As opposed to Bob1062, who makes his Eb look like a small baritone!!!

I didn't think tuba players needed a reason to be in the beer aisle?!
