Imagine my surprise, when I was flipping channels the other night and on David Letterman's show they had a segment called Surprise, It's a Tuba!.
Some guy walks around the street with a tuba, sneaks up behind people and blasts a really nasty note straight at their heads. Did anyone besides me watch this in horror!

Heck, that can be said about most tuba players...
BTW, no one really solicited that comment.
Besides, I'm sure the reaon why you quit watching is because you have a life and a job that requires you to be up before noon.

I saw the tuba bit on Letterman and thought it was quite funny. Of course, I'm just a recreational tuba player so I don't take tuba playing quite as seriously as some might. I thought the best part was the ending where another tuba player did the same thing to the original antagonist as payback - and they made it appear to be unplanned.

My brother called me from D.C. and told me to check the show out. Couldn't they have gotten a better player to blow a tuba into people's ears at close range. If it was Alan Baer, they would have to rename the bit, "Surprise, it's a tuba, and I'm taking you to the otolaryngologist for reconstruction."
