That DVD is amazing. Walter Hilgers has one of, if not the most robust, rich, tuba sound i've ever heard. Not to mention the rest of the group, whom are also equally as astonishing on their respective instruments

You are wrong about the BBb. It is Hilger's modified Bohland & Fuchs tuba. Some where on Tubenet in the past year +/-, Hilgers explains his instruments. You might want to check the archives.

I thought the 197 was a copy of the B&F...?
I do know the B&F has only 4 valves, and at least one of the 197s he's owned (or pictured with) had 5.
Dynamite player, and a dynamite ensemble!

The 200 is even LARGER being a 6/4

Sorry Neptune,
The picture you have published of me playing a tuba is not the Melton 200, it's a Dutch copy (Kayser) of a Mirafone.
Here you have the 200. It's a true 6/4 kaiser.

Thanks for sharing 'true' picture Lars (incorrect image taken down). Out of interest, how do you find the 200 plays against 5/4 Kaisers?

Maybe he picked whatever horn he had available that put the mouthpiece at the right height when the bottom bow rested on the balcony railing.
