Thanks for the link! The video link in the news article lead to a page telling that this video was not available in my country.
A Google search lead to more videos. The second I saw had the best tuba sound even if the basic recording likely was the same:

The fuller and more bouncing tuba sound certainly is of my liking compared to some of the often more harsh bass blowing of this genre. To me it sounded like a large Conn sousaphone.
I also listened to a couple of the related cover version. One was good.

I was at a party in Mountain View, CA a few weeks ago and as I left, I heard some loud tuba playing going on down the street. There was an apartment complex party with a 2 accordion, guitar, drum and Sousaphone combo playing a variety of Banda and other popular Mexican traditional songs. Not the highest quality, but fun, loud, danceable, good-time music. The audience was having a very good time - lots of little kids dancing to the polkas and other songs...
