I have recently acquired an old PT-2 mp and was wondering if there was any way I could get finish re-done and some of the scratches removed. How and where would I look to get this done?

Either (in no particular order because they both do great work) Dan Oberloh or Vladimir at Dillon Music.

Five or so years ago I took a Schilke 60 to Rich Ita who buffed it out and had it gold plated in Atlanta somewhere. Next time you are in Atlanta let him look at it. He'll tell you truth about can be done and cost.

Wherever you send it, be sure to specify exactly what you want done. Some shops will only re-plate without buffing the scratches out of your rim or cup, unless specifically instructed, for fear of altering the original contour too much. If you don't have any deep scratches or nicks, and really want it to look new (and don't mind them removing a little bit of material) just be sure to communicate this with them.
For mouthpieces that are still in production, it's often cheaper and quicker to purchase a new one. If your PT2 plays differently that it's modern equivalent then of course it's a worthy investment.
Good luck!

FWIW, Anderson does all my buffing and plating these days, and they usually do a great job, but I am still careful to give them very explicit instructions every time.
