As stated above, there is a Robert King version available. Some of those old King arrangements were, in fact, "quartets" with the tuba and trombone in octaves, or euphonium and trombone in octaves and the tuba is an "optional" part. And the Euph and/or tuba only play during the bigger tutti sections.

So, I would not be surprized at all if the "quintet" version is just a "quartet" with the tuba reinforcing the 4th part.
